‘2R Dropout’ Philadelphia Fires Coach Doc Rivers

The Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA have fired head coach Doc Rivers.

The 76ers announced the resignation of coach Rivers on the 17th (Korean time). The announcement came two days after being eliminated in Game 7 of the conference semifinals by losing 88-112 to the Boston Celtics.

Rivers led Philadelphia with a 154-82 record over his last three seasons. The season won 54, the most since 2000-01, and was one of three teams in the top 10 for both offensive and defensive efficiency.

It was a meaningful achievement, but I couldn’t laugh in the playoffs. He failed to make it past the conference semifinals for three consecutive seasons and eventually left the team.

Since the 2007 season, Rivers has surpassed the .500 win rate for 16 consecutive seasons. According to ‘ESPN’, the manager who has set such a record for at least 16 consecutive seasons is second only to Greg Popovich (1997-2019), Phil Jackson (1989-2011)먹튀검증, Pat Riley (1981-2001), and Jerry Sloan (1988-2004) in league history. Only five so far.

I experienced consistent success, but I couldn’t laugh in the playoffs. He led the Boston Celtics to a championship in 2008 and advanced to the Finals in 2010, but as the manager of the Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia, he was unable to cross the threshold of the conference semifinals.

“Doc is one of the most successful coaches in league history, a future Hall of Fame inductee, and someone I look up to,” 76ers general manager Daryl Morey said in a statement. We are grateful for what he has done over the past three seasons and the impact he has made. After looking back at our season, we have come to the conclusion that we need to change in order to go further to win.”

Due to Rivers’ sacking, the number of teams with vacancies as manager has increased to a total of five teams, including the Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors, and Detroit Pistons, followed by Philadelphia.

Philadelphia is planning to start looking for a new manager right away. ESPN reported that Mike Burdenholzer, Sam Cassell, Mike D’Antoni, Nick Nurse, Frank Vogel, and Monty Williams are on the rise.
