‘Brooklyn Ace’ Bridges’ performance, which surprised even the opposing team, “We made him a star”

Bridges is active as Brooklyn’s ace in the playoffs following the regular season.

The Brooklyn Nets lost 101-121 to the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the 2022-2023 NBA playoffs held at the Wells Fargo Center on the 16th (hereinafter Korean time).

It was a complete loss for Brooklyn. From the start of the game to the end of the game, I never had an advantage. However, the income earned was also clear. It was the performance of Mikal Bridges (198cm, GF), who grew up as Brooklyn’s new ace안전놀이터. Bridges scored 30 points with a field goal success rate of 66% (12/18) that day. He also grabbed 5 rebounds and recorded 1 blocked shot.

Bridges was hot from the first quarter. He alone drove in 11 points. He scored through a mid-range jumper and a run through, although he missed both 3-pointers he attempted. He also added a free throw score. Even so, Brooklyn was dragged around by allowing too many 3-pointers from the first quarter.

Bridges regained his strength in the second quarter to pursue the chase. He showed amazing efficiency, attempting 8 shots and making 6 of them. Philadelphia focused on defending to control Bridges, but couldn’t control Bridges. Bridges added 12 points in the second quarter. However, Brooklyn still failed to bring the atmosphere and finished the first half with a score of 67-58.

However, in the subsequent game, Bridges struggled somewhat with Philadelphia’s defense. In the second half, Philadelphia focused on keeping Bridges in check. Although Bridges added 7 points in the second half, it was disappointing compared to the first half. With Bridges blocked, Brooklyn lost the game.

The opponent also opened their mouths to Bridget’s performance. First, Philadelphia coach Doc Rivers said in an interview after the game, “Bridges played comfortably in the first half. It was like driving on a highway. So we focused our defense to stop him. But he was really amazing,” praised Bridges.

“We made him comfortable,” said Philadelphia ace Embiid. “He made a lot of jump shots and we made him a star. Still, in the second half, we took the ball out of his hands and succeeded in stopping him.”

Bridges, who moved to Brooklyn midseason, averaged 26.1 points in 27 games. It was an amazing performance by Bridges. And he continued his own performance in the playoffs, the first time he played for Brooklyn. This is why Bridges’ second game, and furthermore, the performance of the rest of the season is expected more.
