Lee Kwang-hyun (Hwaseong City Hall) claimed the men’s foil title at the 2023 National Fencing Team Selection Tournament.

Lee Kwang-hyun easily won the men’s foil final on day two of the tournament at Gyeryong Civic Gymnasium in Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea, with안전놀이터 Kim Dong-soo (Gwangju City Hall, Gyeonggi-do, Gyeonggi-do) withdrawing.

Earlier, Lee Kwang-hyun defeated Jung Min-soo (Busan National University of Foreign Studies) 15-6 in the round of 64, and then easily defeated Seo Jung-min (Chungnam Sports Association) 15-8 in the round of 32. He went on to defeat Chung Si-hwan 15-4 in the round of 16, Choi Min-seo 15-13 in the quarterfinals, and Ha Tae-gyu 15-8 in the semifinals to reach the final.

Meanwhile, in women’s foil, Park Ji-hee (Korea Gymnastics University) defeated Kim Ho-yeon (Daegu University) 15-11 in the final. Hong Sena (Ansan City Hall) and Hong Hyojin (Seongnam City Hall), who lost to Park and Kim in the quarterfinals, finished in third place.
